last month, in midtown
last month i took tasi up to midtown to go to the MOMA. unfortunately free fridays on a holiday weekend apparently means that there’s a line around the block. we dipped into the American Folk Art Museum to catch the Henry Darger show (which is fucking sick & you should go too). and then joined the masses inside the MOMA. too crowded and too annoying to see much although the Marlene Dumas show is pretty rad. Also caught the Van Gogh. Basically had near panic attacks in every room because it was so crowded and the ridiculousness of the people I was standing in such close proximity to were nauseating. I mean i get why they don’t let you take pictures at museums.. especially when you have assholes all standing in front of the artwork w. their cameras out just taking pictures of everything instead of looking at the work itself. When I finally found an empty room i was relieved.
ended up in some strange music influencing art show and watched this DEVO video:
headed over to see the xmas tree @ rockefeller center..
the rainbow room closed this month. not cool. never got to go drink a martini & look at that amazing view. things keep changing, which i guess is good, but wonder if i’m the next to go in ny too… the only question i can’t answer is where do i go from here? it’s kind of hard when you start at the top.
