this is Ava. Her birthday was two days after this picture was taken and she told me she was going to learn how to skateboard.

this is Lily. I ran into her and her sisters once in the pet store and I overheard her go around the corner and say ”that’s miss jen, she is SO fun.”

this Zanaye.  Zanaye would be the little one who dumped an entire box of glitter over her head, a week before christmas, with freshly braided hair.  Right.

This is Destiny. She once told me that her mother asked her why she always comes home with glitter all over her on Fridays. This would be about the time I stopped all use of ”sparkles.”

This would be Omari. And this little boy is going to be trouble someday.  He can get away with anything with that smile.

This is Lenin. He told me he was jewish and from new jersey and that is why he put star of davids on his binoculars we made.

This is Cassidy. She is probably one of the sweetest girls ever.

found an old polaroid camera and there was one shot left in it. accidentally took a picture of a wall in my current apartment. i love expired film. 

this one’s funny because it’s from my mom. my little bro & i have taken to only referring to her as “Peg,” but not to her face unless we’re being funny. this is also on a post it note. which is the most used medium my mom wrote on when she sent me anything. Peg loves her post-its and keeping it brief apparently.

his name is trombone and that apparently in french means “paper clip.” I asked them what paper clip was in spanish & they just laughed at me & said something i couldn’t understand. remember they’re smarter than you or I, they speak french, spanish, and english.

as I mentioned before I’ve been babysitting Thais(pronounced “tie-ees,” it’s brazilian) since she was Gia’s age. Been going thru some early digital archives I have backed up on disc and found this little gem:

that’s Thais in 2004. Age 3. we were headed from Nolita to the Chelsea waterpark for a play date w. her friend Jasper, another little frenchie.

that’s Jasper there on the right. He’s now 8 years old w. a baby brother named Charlie who’s 3.

i’m meeting Jasper & Charlie next week to possibly become their babysitter. maybe they can help me brush up on my french so i can surprise Thais & Gia next time i see them.
